Bruce County Building with Evacuation and Reception Centre Training

Bruce County and local municipalities are boosting emergency preparedness with an Evacuation and Reception Centre Training.

Every municipality in the county has a designated evacuation centre which is a secure spot where individuals and families can access essential services during emergencies.

These centres are staffed by trained personnel including municipal employees, Bruce County Human Services staff and Canadian Red Cross volunteers, be equipped to provide reception and registration services and safe spaces where basic needs such as shelter, food and clothing can be met.

Tina Metcalfe, Director of Human Services at Bruce County says by working together we’re better prepared to provide coordinated, compassionate support to residents across the county.

Municipality of Arran-Elderslie – Chesley Community Centre, Tara Arran Community Centre and Paisley Community Centre

Municipality of Brockton – Walkerton Community Centre

Municipality of Huron-Kinloss – Ripley Huron Community Centre, Lucknow Community Centre, Lucknow and District Sports Complex and Point Clark Community Centre

Municipality of Kincardine – Davidson Centre, and Tiverton Sports Centre

Municipality of South Bruce – Mildmay Carrick Recreation Centre, Teeswater Culross Arena

Municipality of North Bruce Peninsula – Lion’s Head and District Community Centre and Arena, and Tobermory Community Centre
