Now into 2024, Bruce County Development Charges have now taken effect.
Development Charges are being implemented on a graduated basis over a 10 year period with only 25 per cent of the charge being in effect for this year.
The County received no appeals to the DC By-law by it’s January 2nd deadline.
Development Charges will help pay for new growth related infrastructure and reduce the need to increase property taxes for residents.
The charges will assist in financing capital projects to meet the needs and services of the community including paramedic services, roadways and bridges, childcare and long term care.
