Bruce County is looking for residents to do what they can this holiday season all in support of the Dorrell Young Christmas Program.

The aim of the endeavor is to give the gift of hope and inclusions for children and families in need in Bruce County.

The Human Services Department needs donations of either money, an unwrapped gift suitable for a child or teenager or the sponsorship of a family.

The County Staff will provide the gender and ages of family members.

Donations will be accepted until December 20th at the Administration Centre in Walkerton, the Lakeshore Hub in Port Elgin, Peninsula Hub in Wiarton and the Penetangore Hub in Kincardine.

Annually the Dorrell Young Christmas Program provides a gift, often a toy, book or article of clothing for a child or teenager served by Bruce County’s Human Services Department whose family or caregiver are struggling during the holiday season.

The program supports approximately 500 children within Bruce County as well as supporting adult members of households through sponsorship.

The program relies solely on donations through the support of individuals and organizations in the community.
