The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is preparing to host a book launch tomorrow by local Indigenous Author Dorothy Ladd.

She tells us the title and what it is all about.

“Its called ‘Memengwaa: The Monarch Butterfly’. I have a passion for butterflys; I raise them, and tag them, and because they are an endangered species now it’s important that I educate others especially children”

Dorthy is a member of the Ojibwe nation and the book explores the deep connection between Ojiwe beliefs and the winged creatures, with scientific facts about the butterfly lifecycle and migration. It features both English and Ojibwe text.

The event is tomorrow, March 16th from 10 until 2 at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre.
