With Bruce County winter coming in, the county is responding to make sure all relief centres will be ready to support those in need when harsh weather arrives.
As temperatures in the winter can reach below -30 and soar above 30 in the summer, power outages can occur during these events leaving those without heating or cooling or a way to stay connected.
Centres in Bruce County come with a temporarily relief from the weather as well as a spot to charges cell phones and stay connected.
Ray Lux, Bruce County’s emergency management coordinator says having warming or cooling centres this is one way a municipality can support residents impacted by extreme weather and need some relief.
