Bruce County announced today that Derrick Thomson has been appointed as the new Chief Administrative Officer effective April 18, 2022.
The County says that Mr. Thomson is an experienced and innovative municipal leader with more than 30 years experience in community-building, change management, budget administration, strategic planning and innovation.
He is a former CAO for the Town of Minto and the City of Guelph. In the role they say he was responsible for the daily operations of fast-growing Ontario municipalities and their diverse teams and services.
Thompson says he looks forward to working with Council and Staff to support the health and strong communities of Bruce County as they reopen, recover and grow.
