Bruce Power have completed another harvest of Cobalt-60.
They released a statement saying the medical isotopes were harvested during the ongoing Unit 7 outage and sent to an Ottawa based company for processing.
The isotopes are used to sterilize billions of pieces of medical equipment such as surgical globes and single use medical devices used by frontline healthcare workers.
They are also used in the treatment of breast cancer and brain tumors.
Once processing is complete, they will be then shipped to hospitals and medical centres around the world.
