The President and CEO of the South Bruce Health Centre wants to address some of the concerns associated with the COVID restrictions being implemented in Ontario.

Michael Barrett tells the Shoreline Classics that they are seeing a number of COVID positive patients coming to their hospitals in Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley, and Durham.

He says the limited number of intensive care beds coupled with staff shortage is forcing them to make some tough decisions.

Barrett says the hospital organization is developing a plan to ensure staffing levels are maintained while patients awaiting cancer treatment and other procedures are able to have them done.

He says he understands the challenges being put on people who are being affected by the closures.

Barrett says, in the meantime, the public are being encouraged to continue to show support for doctors, nurses, and staff as they have done in the past.
