Bruce Power awards $130 million contract to BWXT

Bruce Power, as part of it’s “Made in Ontario” strategy announced the signing of a $130 million contract as part of their Major Component Replacement Project.

Cambridge-based BWXT Canada has been chosen for the fabrication and supply of replacement feeders for Bruce Power’s reactor units 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8.

Pre-production qualification work for the project is currently underway with production manufacturing to commence this fall and the project expected to be completed by 2031.

John McQuarrie, President of BWXT Canada says the 10-year contract will allow them to make investments in their workforce and facility.
