Bruce Power’s Unit 3 being returned to service in June ahead of schedule has helped meet Ontario’s peak summer electricity demand.
The unit came back to service seven months ahead of schedule following its Major Component Replacement outage.
Since being returned, Bruce Power generation was 740,000 megawatt hours ahead of plan and enough to power as many as 300,000 homes over the summer.
With Unit 3’s life extended by more than 3 decades it will be able to provide enough clean, reliable electricity to power a city the size of Brampton for years to come.
