A canoeist was rescued after an incident over the weekend in Goderich.
On October 3rd, OPP and Huron County Paramedics responded to a marine emergency in water near the Goderich Salt Mine when a concerned citizen noticed someone in distress in the harbour near the Maitland River inlet.
Two others in a nearby inflatable dinghy assisted and pulled the lone canoeist to their vessel.
The 66 year old from ACW Township was in the water for 20 minutes before being rescued and taken to hospital for treatment of hypothermia where they are expected to make a full recovery.
