The Township of Huron-Kinloss removed the wood carvings at Lewis Park in Ripley last week due to safety concerns.

The town says the carvings had become unstable to the point there was a danger of them falling over or injuring a visitor to the park.

The carvings were created in 2008 during the Lewis Park re-development.

Community Services staff had the stumps removed and leveled with topsoil and grass seed.
