Charges laid to three youths after an investigation on the discovery of hate-motivated graffiti

Three youths are facing charges after an investigation by Saugeen Shores Police.

The Criminal Investigations Unit commenced the investigation after some graffiti described as racial and homophobic were found in Port Elgin.

The graffiti was spray-painted on a utility building at the Lamont Sports Park and signs along the snowmobile trail on January 21st and 23rd.

Investigators were able to identify those responsible and the youths are being held accountable through a formal extra-judicial measure program.
