As of 7 a.m. this morning, the Chesley emergency department has resumed operating on reduced hours, after an eight-week closure.
The ED will reopen from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Due to limited nursing staff, it will be closed overnight and on weekends. The department was shut down for a two-month stretch on Oct. 7.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says short notice closures may still be required depending on staff availability, but that they’re working with regional partners to create a sustainable emergency department model for the long-term future.
