Communities in Grey & Bruce Counties holding Events for International Overdose Awareness Day

Events include Community BBQs, Memorial Sacred Fire, and Candlelit Vigils in Owen Sound, Hanover and Port Elgin.

The Town of Saugeen Shores, Saugeen First Nation, the city of Owen Sound, and the Town of Hanover all are holding events in their communities to recognize today as International Overdose Awareness Day.

The day is meant to both remember and act.

There is a Community BBQ in Owen Sound at noon until 3 at 310 8th Street East, BBQ & Memorial Sacred Fire in Owen Sound until 5pm at the M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre in Owen Sound, Candlelit Vigils in Owen Sound behind town Hall, at Hope Community Church in Hanover and at Coulter Park in Port Elgin. All vigils run from 6:30 until 8:30 pm
