You will soon see the front windows of stores and residences in Kincardine covered in socks.

Community Living Kincardine and District are about to launch their Lots of Socks campaign to shine a light on World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st.

Community and Marketing Coordinator Catherine Evans says the campaign sees homes and businesses decorate their windows with colourful socks.

She says they are hoping for a large number to participate.

Evans says the displays aim to show inclusion and normalize disabilities.

She says March 21st was chosen as the date for World Down Syndrome Day as down syndrome is cause by the triplication of the 21st chromosome.

People interested in participating in the Lots of Socks campaign should email cmc@clkd.ca before this Friday to receive an information poster and lots of socks portrait.
