The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook and Water Safety message for the area with a warm front and as much as 10mm of rainfall expected over 36 hours.

Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing over the next few days and combined with rain will melt a large amount of snowpacks.

The conservation authority says high flows and flooding to low lying areas are expected due to flows associated with snow melt from upstream.

Major flooding isn’t expected at this time with flooded areas limited to just low lying undeveloped flood plains.
