The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority Water Response Team has ruled a Level 1 Low Water Advisory across the entire ABCA watershed.

This comes as dry weather continues to drag on with the watershed receiving only about half of the normal monthly rainfall.

As a result, streamflow’s have declined sharply over the last few weeks with some larger creeks observing no flow.

Christie Brown, ABCA Water Resources Technologist says as we move towards the middle of August many areas of the watershed have yet to receive measurable runoff in well over a month. Water users are being asked to proactively conserve water by reducing water usage by 10 per cent.
