Kincardine council has permit two local groups to pursue fundraising campaigns for parks projects, without approving any locations for the infrastructure.

Both the Tiverton Lions Club and the Kincardine Outdoor Pickleball Committee presented to council earlier this month, looking for support for capital projects.

The Lions are looking to install a splash pad at the Tiverton Sports Complex while the pickleball committee is hoping to install six courts at MacPherson Park.

Staff cautioned council against approving any locations or funding until the Parks Master plan was completed later this year, because the assets will eventually become property of the municipality.

Council said they wanted to encourage the groups to continue with their community outreach, which was why they passed the motion.
