Huron-Perth Public Health is reminding parents the deadline is approaching to update their child’s immunization records as those with incomplete records could face suspension.
From the first issued notice earlier this year 2900 records remain incomplete, down from the initial 5100.
The missing records are either from immunizations not being reported to public health or are missing immunizations required for school attendance.
The Immunization of School Pupils Act requires elementary and secondary school students to be immunized against specific diseases to attend school.
In April public health will mail suspension notices to students who haven’t provided up to date immunizations or a valid exemption.
Suspensions will begin on May 23rd.
