An agreement has been reached between OPSEU and the College Employer Council avoiding a strike at community colleges that would have begun today.

There will also be no work-to-rule activities after both sides agreed to binding interest arbitration, meaning both parties authorize that a neutral third party can come in to assist with any outstanding issues to find a compromise.

16,000 faculty at the 24 community colleges in Ontario, including Fanshawe and Georgian, were set to hit the picket lines this morning if no deal had been reached by midnight last night.
