Saugeen Shores Police say they’ve received a report of what is known as the Dirty Oil Scam.
Police say residents should be aware of scammers going around tampering with vehicles prior to taking them for a test drive.
The scammers are seen spraying parts of the vehicle with oil and other substances to make it appear as if the vehicle has defect.
Scammers often do this in hopes to get the price of a car listed for sale dropped well below under the guise that it’s a broken vehicle.
Saugeen Shores Police say you can always agree to meet a buyer at the station parking lot which is recorded 24/7.
