Kincardine and the Lakeside Downtown Kincardine BIA have completed the Downtown Dig for 2023.
The $7 million dollar investment in the downtown’s underground infrastructure began earlier this year which saw the closing of Queen Street from Durham Market Square South to Durham Street in phased sections.
A celebration event will be held starting at 5pm with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 at the entrance to Victoria Park.
Community Economic Development Coordinator Cherie Leslie says they are excited to see the construction project come to its end and celebrate.
Finishing touches for the Downtown Dig in 2024 include the addition of aesthetic elements like benches, planters and trees.
A final topcoat of asphalt will be done in the fall to complete the whole process.
