The Downtown Goderich Business community was joined by two new businesses in the area as they celebrated their grand opening today. Blake Street Bakery and Station Beach Olive Oil & Balsamics opened at 61 Hamilton Street and were greeted with open arms. Blake Street Bakery owner  Sydney Pollock speaks to the move to downtown from being a home-based business.

“We were at the point where we were pushing capacity limits in the house, what we could make in a week and we still weren’t meeting demand. So it was definitely time to move into a storefront.

The partnership at the store with Station Beach Olive Oil & Balsamics was a case where the business owner, Derek Mallett, with a location in the area in Kincardine wanted to expand.

The bakery’s most popular items are their bagels, scones, muffins, cookies and squares. The granola has also become very popular with them selling it in other stores as well.
