Saugeen Shores residents Barry and Susan Dunlop donated $75,000 to Phase 2 of Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign.

The sizable donation means they will have lifetime naming rights to one of the six new diamonds at the park.

Campaign Co-Chair Mike Myatt says the name Dunlop is synonymous with baseball in the community. Barry’s family used to sponsor the local fastball team, the Port Elgin Dunlops.

The campaign is now asking the public for $50,000 to build two batting cages and a storage facility for minor baseball.  For more information or to donate, please go to www.saugeenshores.ca/lamontsportsparkdonations/.
