Federal Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos spoke at a press conference today and he was quoted in translation as saying he thinks mandatory vaccinations for Covid-19 will happen in Canada.

He added that he thinks the only way out of the current crisis is vaccination, despite all of the other tools such as masking and testing.

Although speaking in french, through translation he added that he sees it coming. Not now. He doesn’t believe we are there yet. But he thinks decisions need to be had about mandatory vaccinations because we have to get rid of Covid-19.

Mandatory vaccination is becoming a growing method around the world at an attempt to slow the growth of the virus.

Countries like Austria, which set February 1st, Greece where people over the age of 60 will be fined if they don’t get their vaccination by January 15th, and in Germany where they will soon vote on a similar provision to Austria.

Quebec announced recently it is expanding the requirement for mandatory vaccination and even added that three doses will soon be required for certain services.

Their latest announcement affects those wishing to enter liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries.
