Firearms, drugs seized in joint police investigation

Seven people from Owen Sound are facing charges after a joint police investigation into an illegal drug operation.

Owen Sound Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police partnered to conduct a 3-month investigation which resulted in the seizure of firearms, drugs, and cash.

Last Wednesday, OPP and Owen Sound Police units went to four homes in Owen Sound and two more in Georgian Bluffs as well as searched three vehicles.

They also searched a home in Southampton on Friday.

Officers rounded up a total of five firearms with ammunition and three prohibited weapons.

They also seized a quantity of cocaine and other illicit drugs, and cash worth an estimated $65,000.

The seven arrested range in ages between 21 and 58, and are being held for their court appearance on Monday.
