The Town of Goderich Council appointed former Deputy Mayor Trevor Bazinet as Head of Council today.
Bazinet said in the statement that he is honoured to be elected to this position and adds he is thankful he had the opportunity to sit alongside Myles Murdock and receive his guidance and leadership over the past nine years.
Council met in a special session today to discuss filling the Council vacancy.
In a recorded vote, Council was unanimous in their decision to appoint Bazinet.
The appointment becomes effective immediately.
