A Seaforth golf pro has been sentenced to jail in a sentencing hearing held today.

Cam Doig, a former golf pro, received a sentence of three and a half years after being convicted of one court of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference and two counts of sexual exploitation.

The victim was in their mid-teens at the time of the offences, and Doig in his thirties.

The offences occurred at the Seaforth Golf and Country Club, which is still owned and operated by Doig and his family.

A request prior to sentencing for a delay due to winterizing of the course and undertaking the final tournament of the season at the facility were denied by the judge.

The victim in this case is not able to be named due to a publication ban.
