On August 11, Grey Bruce Public Health declared the COVID-19 outbreak at Brucelea Haven Long Term Care Home in Walkerton to be over.

The first confirmed COVID-19 case was identified at the long term care home on July 20th, and the home was then classified to be in outbreak status.

Enhanced precautions and safety measures were immediately taken to support all residents and staff.

Warden Janice Jackson is now thanking “the incredible staff,” residents, and families for their cooperation and understanding when the safety measures in the home were enhanced.

The focus of Bruce County’s Long Term Care Homes is to ensure a robust pandemic response as the homes continue to act in full compliance with the Long Term Care Homes Act and all associated regulations.
