The Town of Goderich is in the planning stage for a large infrastructure project that will be the replacement of aging infrastructure under the downtown.

Mayor Trevor Bazinet discusses the timeline for the Downtown Dig as well as chances for resident input.

“We are going to take the rest of 2023, and 2024 to do the planning and receive public input. We will have public meetings to have the public provide their input what they want added to the downtown or what they might not have in the downtown anymore.”

In terms of local businesses the Town is said to be entering discussions with how best to accommodate them continuing to operate, with some possibly being assisted in setting up a temporary alternate location due to the construction.
