Goderich makes decision to hire Consultant to Work on Attainable Housing

Consultant will explore not only what types of housing but also how to attract Developers

The Town of Goderich has made the decision to hire a consultant to investigate attainable housing.

The action comes after Council received a report at the Community Economic Development Committee that was commissioned back in July.

The Town had made the recommendation to Create a Community Improvement Plan for the Central Area of town to provide financial assistance for attainable housing projects.

The two areas of town focused on at that time was the central area of town and lands in the vicinity of Bayfield Road and Suncoast Drive.

The Consultant will explore what type of incentives for developers might be needed to achieve the construction of new attainable housing.
