Goderich motel named chamber’s Business of the Year

The 2022 Spirit of Success Awards Gala honoured businesses, organizations and individuals from Goderich, Central and North Huron

The Maple Leaf Motel in Goderich was named Business of the Year at this weekend’s annual Huron Chamber of Commerce awards.

The sold-out 2022 Spirit of Success Awards Gala was held on Nov. 25 at the Knights of Columbus and had a record 92 nominations of local businesses, organizations and individuals for the 11 sponsored awards.

Judges said Maple Leaf Motels application was so genuine and cheerful that even though owners Iqbal Shaukat and Tahseen Tahira are new to the community, they honour the history of the business.
