The Municipality of Kincardine and the the Kincardine Trail Association held the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Kincardine to Inverhuron Provincial Park Trail this morning.

Kincardine Trail Association Chair Brad Kirkconnell says it was emotional to see the trail, which took 10 years from design to completion, finally open.

“A lot of work went into this, a lot of frustration, a lot of delays, but that is all behind us now. Watching people get out and enjoying this and getting onto our next project.”

Kirkconnell says the next project for the Trail Association is a five kilometer cycling trail within Kincardine.

4 km is ready to use with the remaining 1km needing slope work and they plan to work with the Municipality on that next year.
