The Great Goderich Shoreline Clean-up Fundraiser went this Saturday and volunteers cleared a ton of pollutants from the town’s beaches.
A total of 133 volunteers removed 200 lbs of garbage from the Goderich Main Beach and the Maitland River mouth.
Alyssa Bourassa, Coastal Stewardship Technician with the Lake Huron Coastal Centre says though the garbage collected was small in size, it makes a big difference.
The Coastal Centre thanks all their partners who helped make the event successful – Zehrs, Rotaract Club of Goderich and Yoga Den – along with all their sponsors.
There will be more shoreline clean-ups planned for spring of next year
