The Grey Bruce OPP is reminding drivers that students in Grey Bruce are heading back to school next week after summer break.
For drivers, this means maintaining a heightened level of awareness of students getting on and off buses or when travelling near or through a school zone.
Drivers may encounter school buses or increased traffic in their commutes so should take that into consideration.
They are reminded to slow down when they see a bus and start to stop when they see its yellow light.
Parents are encouraged to talk to their kids about being safe when travelling to or from school.
That includes wearing a helmet when cycling for those 18 or under, pedestrians should stay on sideways, or if there are none should walk on the left side of the road facing traffic and they should both make use of crossing guards who are returning to their posts to help children safely cross the road.
