Grey Bruce OPP were involved in a multi-agency drug investigation that has led to several arrests and a large seizure of suspected controlled substances and offence related property.
Last year, members from the Grey Bruce Community Street Crimes Unit, and the Owen Sound Police began the investigation surrounding trafficking in Owen Sound and throughout Grey Bruce.
On Thursday, members of the Grey Bruce & Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Units, Owen Sound Police, West Region Regional Support Team, Emergency Response Team and West Region Tactics & Rescue executed several warrants across Grey Bruce County.
They have charged a 52-year-old male of South Bruce Peninsula and a 49-year-old of Owen Sound with Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 52-year-old was also charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and the 49-year-old with possessing unmarked cigarettes.
As a result of the search warrants, police seized 697 grams of suspected controlled substances worth an estimated $69,785, $14,629 in offence related currency, around $6,440 worth of contraband cigarettes and other offence related property.
