Grey Bruce Public Health is urging users in the region to do so in numbers after a suspected fatal drug overdose in Owen Sound last week.

Officials say the victim was in their mid-30’s.

The health unit has already issued three opioid alerts this month, each after a series of overdoses in a short time span.

They are urging people who use drugs to not do so alone, and asking residents to get their own Naloxone kit which is free and can be lifesaving in a time of need.

Naloxone and safe drug-use equipment are available at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and through our participating sites. Call the Health Unit for details, or call 211.
