Grey Bruce Public Health shared some Rip Current Awareness.
They say the currents can occur in larger bodies of water like Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
They can occur on most beaches, and particularly around piers.
If a swimmer gets caught in a rip current, make sure to swim parallel to the shoreline to escape its pull.
They advise to not try and fight against the current.
They also advise to always swear a PFD or lifejacket while boating and also they should be worn by weak swimmer and young children.
