The Greenbelt Foundation has awarding the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority with $50,000 for their Green Fields, Clean Streams Project.
The grant will support the project which aims to help rural landowners in Grey and Bruce protect soil health, improve water quality and enhance their environmental stewardship.
The project further supports the long term health of Ontario’s Greenbelt, a working landscape which contains just 6.1 per cent of the province’s farmland but home to 9.6 per cent of Ontario’s farms.
Stewardship Technician with the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, Keith Reid says this funding will allow them to directly work with local landowners to implement practical projects which protect water quality and support sustainable farming practices.
