The Grey Bruce Health Unit are thanking Chapman’s Ice Cream for their efforts in the battle against COVID-19.
A statement by the region’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra , says Chapman’s has taken a leadership role in demonstrating their commitment to the community.
He noted that Chapman’s donated a number of special freezers to store the COVID-19 vaccines, and assisted in the storing and transporting of equipment for the hockey hub mass vaccination clinics.
Dr. Arra singled out company owner Ashley Chapman for putting his community ahead of his business.
The news release comes weeks after Chapman’s faced a backlash by so-called anti-vaccine groups who called for a boycott after learning employees who get vaccinated got an increase in pay over non-vaccinated workers.
