A 50 year old man is facing multiple charges after assaulting a homeowner and the police.
On April 6th Grey Bruce OPP received a call of an assault which took place at a home on Highway 6&10 in Meaford.
Police learned the caller found the man trespassing on his property and when he approached the suspect was struck by a golf club.
The suspect then damaged the callers side by side and when police tried to control the suspect, he resisted arrest and uttered death threats to both police and the caller.
The 50 year old faces multiple charges including;
· Assault with a weapon
· Mischief under $5000 (three counts)
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Resist peace officer
· Uttering threats cause death or bodily hard (2 counts)
· Fail to comply with release order (2 counts)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
