Saugeen Shores Police have confirmed human remains found near a seasonal cottage on Saugeen First Nation in November are that of Lijun S.
Lijun was reported missing by his family after fishing on the Saugeen River on January 27th 2024.
Police say its suspected that Lijun was swept away down the river in a large ice flow. Investigators utilized OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and Emergency Response Team to help find Lijun but he could not be located.
After human remains were found on November 15th, the remains were eventually positively confirmed through DNA comparison to be Lijun S.
