The Central Huron BIA issued an update to it’s members on a meeting held today, and Zoom meeting tonight, on proposed official plan and zoning by-law changes.

Denise Van Amersfoort, Manager of Planning for the Huron County Planning Department, says that the purpose of creating more fleixibility for housing units.

“As I think we all realize there is a critical shorage of housing units in our community.  And we believe downtown Clinton is well setup to meet some of this need in a way that will enhance Downtown Clinton, the core area, as a Vibrant People Place.”

One of the proposed  changes would permit on certain streets have residential units right on the ground floor.
