The Huron Hygge program has earned the County a national marketing award.
The Huron County Economic Development’s tourism and marketing team won the 2021 Marketing Canada Award from the Economic Developer’s Association of Canada.
The County used the concept of the hygge (which is Danish for a quality of coziness and being comfortable through the enjoyment of the simple things in life) to help market the area during the first winter of the pandemic.
There were activities developed to engage residents and support local business during a time when pandemic restrictions were high.
The Huron Hygge was such a success that they brought it back for 2022.
