The County of Huron say they are creating a Housing Renewal Plan. The intent is to make sure that the County has shovel ready properties ready for affordable housing investment when opportunities arise.
They add that these could include federal grants, provincial funding, local partnerships and or other financing.
The plan will analyze existing housing stock currently owned by the County or other levels of government, identify opportunities to create housing units and be ready to act quickly when opportunities arise.
The plan is being developed in 2 phases. The first is the analysis which is scheduled to end this month. Phase 2 runs from May to August approximately and includes preparation of site plans and architectural elevations and will involve recommendations to Planning & Development Staff.
