Huron East council have approved the 2026 Water and Wastewater Rate Study.
The rate structure, developed by Watson & Associates Economists LTD with the municipality required to update the plan every 5 years to ensure long term sustainability and responsible management of water and wastewater systems.
As part of the approval, the Municipality will move to a new consolidated rate structure to ensure the long term sustainability of water and wastewater services across Huron East. Residents will see an adjustment to their water and wastewater rates.
The financial plan fulfills provincial requirements under the Safe Drinking Water Act of 2002 and supports multi year capital and operating planning for essential assets.
