Huron East Fire Chief retires from position after almost 20 years

Marty Bedard served as a local firefighter for almost 30 years.

After almost 40 years of service across various municipalities and 30 served as a firefighter in North Huron, Morris-Turnberry and Huron East, Fire Chief Marty Bedard is retiring.

Bedard first started as a firefighter in 1993 in Seaforth where he later became Fire Chief of Huron East in 2003.

Marty was named Fire Chief in North Huron in 2018 then a year later, for Morris-Turnberry.

Bedard says at least for now, he intends to lay back and take it easy for a while.

Kent Readman was named as his replacement for Fire Chief.
