Huron Hospice in Clinton closed temporarily due to Water Pipe Burst

Cold temperatures may have impacted the sprinkler system water line at the Facility. No timeline for reopening known yet.

The Huron Hospice in Clinton experienced significant damage to their facility on Saturday due to a water pipe burst.

In the release informing of the temporary closure the Executive Director, Willy Van Klooster says that just before 9 pm on Saturday appears to be have been caused by the cold weather temperatures impacting the sprinkler system water line.

They thanked the local fire department who arrived quickly onsite and assisted with the immediate cleanup.

The Hospice’s 3 residents were transferred to the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth by Sunday.

An assessment has now begun to assess the damages so repairs can be made as soon as possible.

No timeline has been given as to when the facility will be able to admit residents again.
