The Huron Hospice has marked a milestone for Hospices’ across Canada has they’ve received the Gold Level Music Care Certification from the Room 217 Foundation.

Room 217 resources offer instructions in music’s thoughtful and intentional use in a person’s care by designing ways to support residents and family.

Huron Hospice is the first Hospice in Canada to achieve this certification.

Deb Shelley, Volunteer Coordinator for the Hospice says music has always played a big role at the Bender House with local musicians volunteering their time to play at the Hospice with all kinds of music.

As part of the growth, those coming into the Bender House are now asked what kind of music would help them enhance their stay.
